Thoroughly inspect the shipment immediately upon arrival. If goods are received in damaged condition, it is important you notify the carrier and insist on a notation of the damage on the freight bill. Without this notation, no claim can be enforced against the carrier. If damage is extensive, it might be necessary to refuse the shipment and have it returned to Southern Pride. If concealed damage is discovered, notify the carrier as soon as possible and request an inspection. Unless you do this, the carrier will not entertain any claim for damage. If you give the carrier a clear receipt of goods that have been damaged in transit, you do so at your own risk and expense.
